I am a globalista who is always up for going on a thrilling adventure. Wanderlust pulls me like a magnet around the world with curiosity leading my way.
I am a renaissance woman who feels equally at home painting in the lavender fields of Provence or eating at a barbeque joint in McKinney, Texas. I’m also a dancer who can be found moving freely in my living room. I am an artist who seeks breathtaking beauty.
I have this really handsome husband. He’s not only my biggest fan but he’s encouraged me to follow my heart in pursuit of my artistic dreams. I’ll admit that at first I was uncomfortable with his generous offer. After all, I’d been a self supporting single working girl. Then, I got over myself. So, thanks to my handsome husband, I’m delighted to share with you my journey as a budding artist.
My life has been a kaleidoscope of gallivanting around the States. I grew up in Dallas, Texas and have lived quite a few places including New York City, San Francisco, Phoenix and Virginia. During my college days, I spent a semester in Washington, DC as congressional intern (yep, just like Monica Lewinsky sans the scandal) and a semester abroad in London. After circling the US, I’m back where I started from in McKinney, Texas which is just north of Dallas. This gypsy spirit knows a thing or two about creating a sense of home over and over again. Home is where you make it.
My educational pursuits reflect my lifelong passions — mastery in an art form and cultural curiosity. I have a degree in Dance from TCU and a master’s degree in International Business with a focus in Cross Cultural Communications from Thunderbird School of Global Management. Yes, like so many of you, there were those years I worked in marketing and public relations. Around 10 years ago, I decided to break away from the pack to do what I really wanted to do — I became an Expressive Arts Therapist.
While living in San Francisco, I stumbled upon the expressive arts. Beyond the performing arts, I saw how the arts can powerfully expand and transform your life. My years in the expressive arts has taken me from psych wards to women’s shelters to healthcare facilities. I worked with autistic kids, mentally challenged adults, at-risk youth and folks with cancer. I’ve also lead some amazing workshops I produced on my own and at places like Lake Austin Spa & Resort and Red Mountain Resort.
Now, I’m on a different journey. As with everyone’s journey, my journey is perfect. I’m right on schedule. Even now as I type this, I realize I’ve come full circle. I’m now in a place of creative exuberance and curiosity to live with unfettered gusto. I’m excited to bring people on a journey of discovery whether at home or abroad.
I live my happy creative life with my handsome husband, dog and two cats in a cute bungalow in the historic district of McKinney, Texas where we do lots of porch sittin’.
